The work on this page doesn’t fit neatly in any linear chronology of my work.

In the early nineties I was working with ideas about image and text. Here are a few experiments.
There were only 4 paintings in this series from 1992. This was the same year that I made the Immemorial performance at the De Young and was exploring the significance of absence.
Atlas of the Universe is a part of The Search for Life in Distant Galaxies from 2009/10.  Buried in one of the appendices of this story are these maps.
These photos were screen grabs from my video Lightning Field (2003). I printed them and had them up in my studio for a while and then put them in a folder.
These photos were taken at Thanksgiving in 2008, shortly before my father died.
